PR No. 08 SUPREME COURT DIRECTS DRUG REGULATORY AUTHORITY TO FIX THE PRICE OF STENTS AND DISPOSABLE FOR THREE MONTHS Islamabad: September 3, 2018

The Honourable Supreme Court has directed the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) to fix the price of stents and disposable for a period of three months whereafter it may be revised. The Court took up the matter on 02-08-2018 to alleviate the concerns, regarding the price of stents and disposable, resulting from fluctuation of the exchange rate of PKR to USD as the Court noted that 15 days is too short a time period. The Honourable Supreme Court has passed this order in Human Rights Case No 10633-P/2018 in the matter regarding affordable standard prescription of cheap medical treatment for heart surgery patients. *********
