Qaiser Khan, President Mohmand Agency Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with the delegation called on Syed Ali Zafar, Federal Minister for Law and Justice here today in Islamabad. The delegation discuss the issues that they are facing after the merger of FATA/PATA in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. During the course of meeting, the delegation apprised the Minister about their concerns on various issues especially on Tax exemptions and concessions to the people of FATA. They were of the view that FATA should be made exempted from the Income and sales tax as they were promised by the Federal Government at the time of merger. They demanded to review and revisit the ECC decision in respect of exemption from taxation meant for FATA/PATA and to bring it to the spirits of promises that were made by the Federal Government prior to the 25th Constitutional Amendment. Minister for Law and Justice, assured his full cooperation to the delegation for the resolution of issues faced by the people of FATA after the merger. He said issues of FATA/PATA shall be resolved on priority basis, and will do everything in his power to solve them. Syed Ali Zafar also said that Prime Minister has already constituted a committee for facilitating FATA’s and PATA’s merger with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
