The launching ceremony of the Film Market and Film Cooperation Forum of SCO film festival was held in Qingdao on 14th June, 2018, says a press release received here today from Qingdao. The film market consists of 12 booths, where 26 film organizations and about 50 personnel from SCO member and observer states will showcase their films and be introduced to advanced TV technologies and film equipment from China. Mr. Li Guoqi, Deputy Administrator of China Film administration welcomed the delegates and termed the SCO film festival as a culmination of Qingdao Declaration for strengthening people to people contacts. He said that films can play a unique role in connecting people and China is willing to extend its full support to enhance co-operation between the film industries of SCO States. Ms. Ambreen Jan, Head of Pakistan delegation gave a speech in the theme of “Respect Cultural Diversity, Promote Film co-operation.” She informed about the vast opportunities Pakistan has to offer in the fields like co-production of film, sharing of technical expertise and training of film experts. Ms. Momina Duraid of Hum TV represented Pakistan in the Panel discussion of the Film Co-operation Forum. Pakistani Film Booth showcasing the five movies being selected for the film festival, garnered a lot of attention from the media and film experts.
