The 6h Round of ‘International Festival for Drums & Traditional Arts concluded at Salahuddin Citadel, Cairo on Sunday. The Festival continued to entertain its fans during its week long performances, starting on 20th April 2018, says a press release received here today from Cairo. The closing ceremony took place at Salahuddin Citadel in Cairo. Performers and Musicians from around 20 countries participated in the Musical Festival, including Egypt, Palestine, Greece, Syria, India, Sudan, Indonesia, Poland and Pakistan. The audience cheered for all participating countries, especially when Palestinian and Pakistani troupes performed. Intesar Abdel Fattah, the Founding Organizer of the Festival, thanked everyone present on the occasion in making the event successful and expressed his hope to see everyone again the following year. A Nine-Member Troupe from Pakistan participated in the Festival. Pakistani troupe consisted of Taj Mastani, a popular folk singer, Sattar Jogi, Murli Instrumentalist, Hassan Mirbahar, Surando Instrumentalist, Mai Dhai, traditional Dhol Player and Shokat Ali, a folk singer. The audience applauded performance of Pakistani artists, particularly ‘dhamal’ performance of Taj Mastani. This year theme of the Festival was presenting art in a magnificent artistic dialogue among different cultures under the slogan ‘Drums Dialogue for Peace’. During the week long performances, Pakistani troupe performed at Al-Moez Street, Al-Hanager Theater, Qobatul Ghori, Al-Horiya Garden and Salahuddin citadel. The festival was a step to bring people and nations from diverse cultures closer to each other. A large number of people including members from diplomatic community watched the performances. It was an impressive show and a message of peace to the entire world through the participation of over 20 countries from across the world with different cultural backgrounds. *-*-*-*-*-*-
