13th round of Turkey-Pakistan High level Military dialogue Group meeting (HLMDG) was held at Ankara., Turkey from 19-23 February 2018. General Umit DUNDAR, Deputy chief of Turkish general Staff, Republic of Turkey led Turkish delegation while Lt. Gen. (Retd) Zamir-ul-Hassan shah, secretary Defence led Pakistani delegation in the talks. Prior to the meeting Lt. Gen. (Retd) Zamir-ul-Hassan Shah had meetings with General Hulusi AKAR, Chief of Turkish Armed Forces, and General Umit DUNDAR, Deputy Chief of Turkish General Staff. During the HLMDG meeting both delegations discussed all avenues of mutual cooperation in military training education, defense industry cooperation, regional security and fight against terrorism. Both sides deliberated upon various areas of interest, including security, counter terrorism and prevailing regional environment particularly with reference to Middle East and South Asia including Afghanistan. Besides, delegations took stock of the progress that had amerged since last HLMDG meeting held in Pakistan in January 2017. Lt. Gen. (Retd) Zamir-ul-Hassan Sah also held meetings with the Turkish Minister of National Defense, Under secretary for Defense industry and visited defense industrial firms particularly ASELSAN, TAI, HAVELSAN and ROKETSAN. He also visited significant cultural sites in Konya and Istanbul. Talks were held in a most cordial and congenial atmosphere. Del;egation leaders resolved to enhance cooperation in defense and security related issues. It was agreed that 14th Round of Pakistan-turkey meeting will held in Pakistan in 2018. *****
