Taking upon cognizance on reports received from Pak. Missions in Sri Lanka and Los Angles, USA, regarding NICOP/ POC, Wafaqi Mohtasib Secretariat asked National Database Registration Authority (NADRA ) to submit report and resolved Overseas Pakistanis grievances. The Agency was further asked to submit country-wise break-up of pending and resolved applications of NICOP/POC of Overseas Pakistanis from January,2018 till to-date and also to state that why there is delay in pending NICOP/POC applications and to submit country wise break-up that how many complaints / applications of NICOP/POC have been received from January 2018 till to-date on the complaints system of NADRA and how many are resolved and how many are pending and what are their reasons. The senior representatives of NADRA explained on the day of hearing that after final submission of applications of NICOP/POC applicants / Overseas Pakistanis received through online mechanism, they are being processed by technical persons and the applicants with a notification email sent at their registered e-mail addresses by assigned case offer and in case of any query/ ambiguity phone calls are made at given phone numbers. They further submitted that to take application process more convenient from initiating an online application to final delivery of card at doorsteps, a well-experienced and dedicated team of technical persons is always available looking after technical issues and provide timely solution faced by expatriates during submission of online applications. The Agency ( NADRA ) stated in their report in response to Waqfaqi Mohtasib Secretariat letter that from 1st January 2018 to till date, 20,656 applications related to NICOP/POC are received from all over the world and 17,613 out of them processed/ dispatched. NADRA further stated that their complaint system has registered 3,454 complaints are received and 2970, out of these complaints were resolved and only 476 complaints are pending with them. Hafiz Ahsaan Ahmad Khokhar, Senior Advisor and Grievance Commissioner for Overseas Pakistanis, Wafaqi Mohtasib stated that Federal Ombudsman Mr. Tahir Shahbaz has always given priority to resolve Overseas Pakistanis Grievances and several initiatives have been taken for their welfare and facilitation in this regard. He asked that NADRA may take all steps for early resolution of pending cases / applications of NICOP/ POC of Overseas Pakistanis and to send them reply with an appropriate solution within 48 hours as per Agency’s SOP and to regularly interact with Pak. Missions abroad regarding such issues. Hafiz Ahsaan Ahmad Khokhar, Senior Advisor and Grievances Commissioner for Overseas Pakistanis, Wafaqi Mohtasib further asked to the Agency that country wise break-up of resolved and pending NICOP/POC applications of Overseas Pakistanis may be submitted regularly on the 1st date of every month to Wafaqi Mohtasib. The representatives of Agency assured that the compliance reports on the subject would be regularly submitted to Wafaqi Mohtasib.
