President Mamnoon Hussain and H.M King Abdullah II of Jordan agreed to enhance cooperation in the fields of trade, education and culture and said that Pakistan and Jordan can benefit from the experiences of each other in various fields. This was agreed between the two leaders during a meeting at the Aiwan-e-Sadr. H.M King Abdullah II of Jordan was accompanied by Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Lt. General Mahmoud A. Freihat and other senior officials. Federal Minister for Defence Engr. Khurram Dastgir Khan, Foreign Secretary and other senior officials were also present in the meeting. President Mamnoon Hussain emphasized that Pakistan greatly values Jordan’s bold stance on the declaration of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel by US. On the occasion, H.M King Abdullah II of Jordan appreciated Pakistan’s stance regarding the resolution of challenges faced by Muslim Ummah. President Mamnoon Hussain underscored that the resolution of long standing issues of Kashmir and Palestine is imperative for international peace and security. The President highlighted that Pakistan and Jordan are connected through deep political, cultural and historical links. He further underlined that the bilateral trade do not fully commensurate the excellent brotherly relations between the two countries. He proposed that there should be a regular exchange of trade delegation between Pakistan and Jordan. Agreeing with the proposal of the President, H.M King Abdullah II of Jordan said that increase in bilateral trade is necessary for further strengthening the economies of the both countries and it will be considered in the meeting of Joint Ministerial Commission in March.
