Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, Engr.
Muhammad Baligh Ur Rehman has said that the national stakeholders’ conference
will be held soon to share the findings of National Achievement Test (NAT)
2016.
The Federal
Minister for Education and Professional Training, Engr. Muhammad Baligh Ur
Rehman was chairing a meeting at the Committee Room of the Ministry of Federal
Education and Professional Training on Thursday.
During the
meeting, Dr. Syed Kamal Ud Din, Director National Education Assessment System
(NEAS) gave presentation to the Federal Minister on “National Achievement Test
(NAT) 2016 Findings”.
The meeting was
attended by officers of the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional
Training and its attached departments.
He noted that all
the provinces fully participated in NAT 2016, saying that the quality of
education has improved in the country.
During the tenure
of the present government, first NEAS-National Achievement Test was conducted
in 2014 while second NEAS-National Achievement Test was conducted in year 2016,
he said.
The Federal
Minister appreciated the role of NEAS team. The sample size of students set
30,000 in NAT 2016 which is higher than previous sample size. And 1500 schools
participated in the mega activity.
Baligh Ur Rehman
said that assessment is very important element for any education system.
He said that
conceptual learning is vital for students and it is possible through native
language or local language.
The Federal
Minister said that things are going better and ghost schools’ phenomenon is
ending in the country. He said that the sports and physical activities are also
essential for students as healthy body contains healthy mind.
