Minister of State/ Special Assistant to PM on Law Mr. Ashtar Ausaf Ali has said that present government under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif attaches great importance to affordable and speedy justice to the common citizen. He said this while talking to the German Ambassador in Pakistan H. E Ms. Ina Lepel who paid a courtesy visit to the SAPM.
Mr. Ashtar Ausaf Ali briefed the visiting German Ambassador about the upcoming legal reforms in the country. He informed her that suitable amendments are being incorporated in the laws relating to women empowerment, child protection, minority rights and Christian Marriage Acts. These amendments in the legal system are being introduced to provide ease to the common man, he added.
He also informed the visiting ambassador that to speed up the legal proceeding digitization of the records is being done, and prosecution and investigation procedures are being made more comprehensive and transparent. The SAPM hoped that such upcoming legal reforms will help fair and speedy disposal of the cases.
H. E. Ina Lepal appreciated the efforts of the present government of Pakistan to bring up legal reforms and offered her country’s full support and cooperation in this regard.
Mr. Ashtar Ausaf Ali appreciated the German help and cooperation in the times of distress and disasters and hoped that that cooperation will continue in the future as well. The two sides agreed to further cement the ties between the two countries in all spheres of life including the judicial system.
