PR No.61 HEALTH MINISTER SAYS NO COMPROMISE ON STRICT ADHERENCE TO MERIT IN THE MEDICAL COLLAGES Islamabad

Minister for National Health Services Saira Afzal Tarar has says there will be strict adherence to new admission policy and no compromise on merit under any circumstances. She said there will be zero tolerance for any deviation for the policy and any one found indulging in any violation will be dealt in under the rules. She said under the policy all medical and dental college will be strictly monitored to observe whether admission are given to the deserving and on merit & Pakistan Medical Dental Council has setup a complaint cell for  all the students seeking admission in the Medical and Dental Colleges for the year 2016-17.

Minister said meeting of regional admission committee for Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) held today. Secretary National Health Services Muhammad Ayub Sheikh chaired the meeting. Following members attended the meeting, Members nominated by the Council Dr. Abid Farooqi, member ICT Dr. Farrukh and representative of HBS Collage and Registrar  SZABMU.

Under the policy all the students seeking admissions in medical and dental colleges shall not be registered unless they fulfill all the criteria of admission prescribed in the regulations. According to the regulations a candidate local or foreign must have minimum 60% marks in F.Sc. (Pre-medical). The Merit Formula for the entry test shall be 10% Matric Marks, 40% F.Sc. or equivalent, 50% (Entry Test) for local students and 50% (MCAT or SAT) for foreign Students.

Selected candidates for medical and dental colleges are required to submit fee within 7 days. Seats not filled by foreign graduates shall be converted into local open merit seats with local student fee schedule. Each college shall display its fee and online official bank account Number on its website. Tuition fee for local student shall be Rs. 6,42000/- per year and fee for foreign graduates shall be USD 18,000/- per year. No student shall be charged for any sort of donation, or monetary gain in any form.
