Federal Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain was briefed by Major General Agha Muhammad Akram, Director General, Defence Export Promotion Organization regarding the performance of DEPO for the year 2015-16. DEPO, is an organization working under Ministry of Defence Production, conducts Defence Exhibitions, Seminars, Conferences, and facilitates participation in Foreign Exhibitions.

Minister was informed that after the execution of successful event of IDEAS-2014 DEPO also inaugurated a DEPO Display Centre on 06^th October 2015 that was a great addition in organization. A successful seminar was also conducted on Public Private Partnership in Islamabad by DEPO.

Minister for Defence Production was also briefed about the preparations of IDEAS-2016. IDEAS-2016 will be held at Expo Centre Karachi from 22^nd November 2016 to 25^th November 2016. Many countries from all over the world will participate in the exhibition. The exhibition will help to promote Pakistan’s defence products in International market. Both public and private companies from Pakistan will participate in the IDEAS-2016.

Minister for Defence Production has shown satisfaction regarding the performance of DEPO and appreciated the great efforts of the organization to arrange an exhibition of international standards. He said that IDEAS is an opportunity to reinforce diplomatic efforts in the realm of defence diplomacy and will help in building soft image of Pakistan as a modern, progressive and tolerant state, he added.
