PR No.49 NURSING PROFESSIONALS OF UAE AND BEHRAIN VISIT PAKISTAN NURSING COUNCIL Islamabad

Dr. Fariba A AlDarazi, member of Supreme Council of Health Bahrain and Health Workforce Development and Nursing Consultant and Dr. Fatima Al Rifai, Advisor on Nursing, MOH and Secretary Board Member for UAE Nursing and Midwifery Council, visited the council on an invitation by Dr. Rafat Jan, President Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC).

A detailed briefing was given all the functions of Council along with a presentation on online PNC registration system.  Both the distinguished guests Dr. Fariba and Dr. Fatima highly appreciated the achievement and strengthening of PNC after the 1st Nurse President in the Council. The honorable guests added that the council is ‘far ahead’ from most of the countries in the WHO-EMRO region.

Dr. Rafat Jan informed Minister for Health, Ms. Saira Afzal Tarar, for the up lifting the noble profession of nursing in Pakistan. The delegation appreciated the efforts of Honorable State Minister for Health, Ms. Saira Afzal Tarar specially her support & hard work which is being done for establishing first nursing university of Pakistan with the collaboration of Bahrain Government.

The President PNC, Dr. Fariba and Dr. Fatima agreed on working collaboratively as councils of Pakistan, Behrain and UAE respectively, to develop policies, standards, scope of practice for nurses and midwives specialization, competencies, curriculum and its modalities for nurses and midwives in the countries. It was agreed that PNC will host the first council’s collaboration meeting in Islamabad during December 2016.
