Prime Minister’s National Health Program has expanded its horizon in 26 districts of Pakistan. So far program has provided indoor hospital treatment to more than 26,000 beneficiaries for various medical and surgical illnesses. More than 260 open heart surgeries, 700 angiographies, 1000 cycles of dialysis, 1400 normal deliveries, 1700 C/sections, 980 cholecystectomies, 1400 hernia repairs, 1400 appendectomies, 1000 cataracts and 1300 hysterectomies have been performed on program beneficiaries through 92 empanelled hospitals all across Pakistan. As per third party survey conducted by NADRA, the program enjoys more than 93% patient satisfactory rate.

The program has recorded one of the highest ratio of cardiac anomalies in the Khyber agency of FATA. Due to which Prime Minister’s National Health Program has performed more than 40 open heart surgeries for the beneficiaries of Khyber and Bajour Agencies, mostly Khyber, during first three month of its launch.

In AJK the program has been launched in two districts including Muzaffarabad and Kotli and providing services to 95000 enrolled families. However Ministry is working to include additional 8 districts of AJK in the program. In its new PC-1 Ministry has allocated 950 million to expand program in AJK.

Prime Minister’s National Health Program is designed to provide quality health care services to women. This includes services for normal delivery and C sections. So far more than 15000 women have been treated in the program for various elements.

As per the instruction from Honorable Prime Minister, Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination, under the leadership of Minister of State, Saira Afzal Tarar, is working to expand the scope of program in remaining districts of Pakistan.
