Projects amounting to 950 Billion rupees underway by NHA, while 225 Billion saved via transparent bidding process, Minister Told..

Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs an In-charge of Ministry of Communication today visited the headquarters of NHA. the Minister expressed satisfaction over the transparency in the process of tendering. The Minister was briefed by Chairman NHA on the latest ongoing projects which are related to eastern and western routes of CPEC. The Minister lauded the efforts of NHA in reducing the estimating costs of the projects and saving the national exchequer worth 225 billion rupees. The Minister has said that the top construction companies are interested in Hyderabad- Sukkur motorway section. The Minister directed the NHA authorities to speed up the work on Lahore- Multan and Faisalabad- Multan sections of Motorway which are expected to be completed on time in 2018.

The Minister was also briefed about the KKH 2 project which will also be completed in 2018 joining Hawelian with Mansehra. The Minister expressed hope that the Khuzdar-Shahdadkot highway will be a new strategic opening going both Sindh and Balochistan.

The Minister further said that the Prime Minister is taking personal interest in all ongoing projects and he assured that the construction quality of the Highways is same across all th provinces. The Minister said that Balochistan has the largest network of roads build by NHA covering the 38% of total length. The Minister also said that the condition of roads in Balochistan is far better than other parts of country due to less usage, the secretary Communication also discussed matters relating to postal service reforms. The Minister said that he will soon arrange a meeting with opposition parties to alleviate their concerns on different highway projects.
