Mr Masood Khan, President AJ&K called on Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif at PM House today.
The Prime Minister congratulated Mr Masood Khan on being elected as President AJ&K and expressed the hope that the newly elected President would utilise his vast experience for the wellbeing of the people of AJ&K. ‘’Your present constitutional responsibilities are much larger than the duties you performed during your professional career. We expect that you guide the elected government towards achieving better governance, strengthening of institutions and improving the socio-economic conditions of the people of AJ&K’’, expressed the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister expected that the office of President AJ&K will steer the elected government led by Raja Farooq Haider in bringing reforms in the crucial sectors of health and education. The Prime Minister said Federal Government would extend its maximum support to the Government of AJ&K in its endeavours to serve the people of AJ&K. ‘’We strongly believe in serving the people and will extend our developmental agenda to AJ&K as well’’, expressed the Prime Minister.
‘’Now you also have a larger platform to better advocate the freedom cause of the people of Indian Occupied Kashmir. Pakistan will continue to extend its moral, diplomatic and political support for the freedom movement of IOK’’, said the Prime Minister.
Thanking the Prime Minister, Mr Masood Khan said that he would use his energies and experiences for the betterment of the people of AJ&K. ‘’I am immensely grateful for reposing the great trust in myself by your party. I will leave no stone unturned to help the government of AJ&K to perform according to your vision and policies’’, said the President.
