A consultative Workshop on strategic planning for National Council of Human Rights was held at local hotel in Peshawar on 4th August, 2016. The workshop was attended by member NCHR Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr. Yehaya, Member FATA Dr. Begum Jan, Country Head Hassan Nasir, Advocacy Officer DRI Muhammad Rafique, Provincial Coordinator Khalfan Khattak.

Exhaustive discussions took place on a wide array of human rights issues and challenges which included child labour, women rights, hudood laws and provision of speedy justice in FATA and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said that civilized societies enquire basic human rights as top priority and then reach the apex of glories in the committee of nations.

 

Before final discussions, three groups were formed to discuss and give suggestion pertaining to human rights issues. The group suggestions were focused on labour issues/laws particularly child labour, women rights, Hudood laws, provision of speedy justice and human rights in FATA reforms.

 

The Chairman for NCHR Justice ® Ali Nawaz Chohan while appreciating the suggestions of groups said that the group experts have given their best possible input and urged the participants to support the NCHR in its future endeavors also.
