The High Commission of Pakistan in Sri Lanka hosted the grand annual Iftar reception in Colombo recently, says a press release received here today from Colombo, Sri Lanka.

The event was attended by the a large number of dignitaries from all segments of society, including Government Minister,  parliamentarians, Chief Ministers, Diplomats, Businessmen, academicians, representatives of civil society, media, Senior Government officials and Pakistani community based in Sri Lanka.

The political personalities included the Minister for Transport, Hon. Nimil Siripala De Silva, Minister for Water Supply and Drainage Hon. Rauff Hakeem, Minister for Ports and Shipping, Hon. Arjuna Ranatunga, Minister for Primary Industries, Hon. Daya Gamage, Minister for Internal Affairs Wayamba Development and Cultural Affairs, Hon. S.B. Navinna, Minister for Commerce and Industry, Hon. Rishad Bathiudeen, Minister for Local Government and Provincial Councils, Hon. Faizer Mustafa, Minister for Public Enterprises Development, Hon. Kabir Hashim, Minister for Petroleum Resources Development, Hon. Chandima Weerakkody, Deputy Minister for Petroleum Resource Development, Hon. Anoma Gamage, State Minister for National Integration and Reconciliation, Hon. A.H.M. Fowzie, Opposition Leader, Hon. R. Sampanthan and Chief Minister Eastern Province, Hon. Z.A. Nazeer Ahamad.

Defence Secretary, Engr. Karunasena Hettiarachchi, Chief of Defence Staff Air Chief Marshal K.A. Gunatilleke and Naval Commander Vice Admiral Ravindra C. Wijegunaratne also attended the event.

The High Commissioner of Pakistan in Sri Lanka Maj. Gen. (R) Syed Shakeel Hussain along with the officers of the High Commission warmly welcomed the guest.
