Canadian Acting High Commissioner in Pakistan Mr. Stuart Savage along Counselor Trade and Commercial Ms. Allison steward held a meeting Federal Minister for Law, justice and Climate Change Mr. Zahid Hamid.

“Pakistan is preparing detailed research based INDC’s for COP-22 and formulated a team of experts for this purpose”, told by the Federal Minister to the delegation.

“Pakistan is establishing Climate Change Council consisting of all Chief Ministers, Climate Change Authority to deal with climate change issues. Pakistan has federal and provincial Environmental Protection Agencies to deal with environmental issues. Prime Minister of Pakistan has launched Green Pakistan Program to preserve forestry and wildlife in Pakistan”said by the Federal Minister.

It was also informed by the High Commissioner that Canadian companies are also working on small solar projects in Pakistan.

Canadian High Commissioner appreciated the efforts of Pakistani government to tackle climate change effects and assured to extend their support.
