President Mamnoon Hussain has praised the economic policies of the government and said that with the completion of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and energy projects Pakistan will have economic turnaround as lot of business and employment opportunities will be created.

The President said this while talking to a delegation of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) which headed by its President Atif Ikram Sheikh called on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on Wednesday.

President Mamnoon Hussain lauded economic achievements of the government and expressed satisfaction that the country is moving in the right direction. The President noted that the achievements on the economic front have been acknowledged by International Financial Institutions and Pakistan has also been categorized in the emerging markets. The President said that the present government, which is considered a business friendly government, is committed to facilitating the business community and providing conducive business environment to boost economic growth despite economic constraints and inadequacy of resources.

The President advised the Chamber that it should give awards to only those deserving businessmen who render tangible services benefiting the country. The President further advised the office bearers of the Chamber to resolve the problems of its members and proactively strive to uphold their rights. The President called upon business community to pay their due taxes so that the government could utilize additional income for betterment of the people.

President ICCI apprised President Mamnoon Hussain of the problems being faced by the Chamber. He praised the economic performance of the government and acknowledged that the business community is duly consulted in formulation of economic policies.
