PR No.253 PAKISTAN DAY CELEBRATED IN POLAND Islamabad: March 24, 2017

Pakistan Day was celebrated at a graceful ceremony at embassy of Pakistan Warsaw, Poland on 23rd March, 2017. The ceremony started with recitation of the Holy Quran. The Ambassador of Pakistan to Poland, his Excellency Dr. Khalid Hussain Memon hoisted the national flag in the presence of the Pakistani community, Pakistani students studying in Polish Universities and Embassy officials and their families. Messages of the President and Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan were read out by the Ambassador and Deputy Head of Mission respectively, says a press release received here today from Poland.

Pakistan Day reception was also hosted in the afternoon in the lawn of the Embassy. The event was attended by Polish parliamentarians, government functionaries, Warsaw based foreign diplomats, representatives of various universities, media and business houses.

In his remarks at the diplomatic reception, Ambassador Khalid H. Memon underlined the importance of 23 March 1940 Resolution in the history and struggle for Pakistan that resulted in creation of a separate homeland for the Muslims of the sub-continent under the inspiring leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. The Ambassador also highlighted our rich cultural heritage, investment opportunities in Pakistan, importance of relations with Poland.

At the end, Pakistani food was served to the guests.
