PR No .245 PAKISTAN EMBASSY CHARITY BAZAR MARKS PAK-CHINA DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS 65TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS; CHINESE FOREIGN MINISTER’S SPOUSE QIAN WEI ATTENDS AS CHIEF GUEST Islamabad

As part of the 65th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China, the Embassy of Pakistan held a one-dayCharity Bazar today for the benefit of elderly people in Beijing, says a press release received here today from Beijing.

Chinese Foreign Minister’s spouse Qian Wei while addressing the gathering on the occasion as Chief Guest said that the two countries enjoyed a unique iron-brother friendship adding that for the past 65 years, the people of the two countries had worked together in establishing an all-weather strategic cooperative partnership. Madam Qian Wei also conveyed congratulations and thanks from Foreign Minister Mr. Wang Yi to the Pakistan Embassy colleagues and also appreciated the display of various articles, traditional handicrafts and cuisine while visiting the stalls.

Ambassador Masood Khalid in his speech on the occasion said that the bazaar was another highlight of the celebrations for the current year that mark the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.  He said that colorful stalls and musical performances were arranged to showcase Pakistan’s culture, traditions, handicrafts, garments, cuisine and various products so as to create an ambience of Pakistan. He said that the objective was to make a humble contribution for the care of the elderly by supporting the Longzhen Service Centre in Beijing. He also thanked the donor companies who had donated generously to the noble cause.

The bazaar was attended by a large number of Chinese citizens and members of the diplomatic corps who evinced keen interest in Pakistani culture, handicrafts and food.
