PR NO. 214 FEDERAL GOVERNMENT IS COMMITTED TO SOCIO-ECONOMIC UPLIFT OF BALOCHISTAN: AHSAN IQBAL Islamabad

Federal Minister for Planning, Development & Reform Ahsan Iqbal has said federal government is committed to socio-economic development of Balochistan and launched several development projects in the last three years. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is personally monitoring the implementation of development projects in Balochistan for well-being of people of the province. Ahsan Iqbal stated in a meeting with Governor Balochistan Mohammad Khan Ackakzai at Ministry of Planning, Development & Reform. They discussed the ongoing development projects in the province. Ahsan Iqbal said that federal government is working to promote higher education in the province and establishing new universities in less-developed areas of the province to expand higher education network. The establishment of universities in Turbat, Zhob and Gwadar would provide the higher education opportunities to the local population in their areas.  Minister pointed out that vocational training institutions projects have been launched in many areas of the province to produce skilled human development. He highlighted the significance of CPEC for Balochistan and said that it would uplift the less-developed areas of the province socially and economically. He said that Gwadar sea port and mega development projects made the port city attractive destination for foreign investors. “CPEC will usher new era of development in Balochistan”, he added.
