Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Professor Ahsan Iqbal has called for renewed national commitment to the vision and principles of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, stressing that Pakistan’s progress depends on unity, self-belief and collective efforts.
Addressing the * unveiling ceremony of the official logo for celebrations marking Quaid-e-Azam’s 150th birth anniversary, the minister said the occasion should be a year of renewed commitment rather than mere commemoration. He emphasized that while the nation had displayed Quaid-e-Azam’s portraits in offices, it must also embrace his teachings and principles in practice.
Ahsan Iqbal said Pakistan’s founding generation had transformed the dream of an independent homeland into reality within seven years despite limited resources. “If Pakistan could be achieved in seven years with limited resources, why can’t we achieve development today?” he asked, expressing confidence that Pakistan could become a trillion-dollar economy by 2035.
He stressed that Pakistanis must rise above divisions of ethnicity, language and region, recognizing their shared national identity. He called upon the youth, engineers, doctors, teachers and workers to play their part in building a prosperous, self-reliant and economically sovereign Pakistan.
The minister said the best tribute to Quaid-e-Azam was to uphold his principles of faith, unity and discipline, adding that the nation must work collectively to fulfil his vision and secure a prosperous future for coming generations.
