Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting, Barrister Danyal Chaudhry, has said the government firmly believes in reconciliation and has made serious efforts to resolve political matters through dialogue and negotiation, keeping all doors of talks open. However, PTI deliberately sabotaged the negotiation process.
Addressing a press conference alongside the Prime Minister's Coordinator Ikhtiar Wali Khan todayhe said the government engaged PTI with complete sincerity and made every effort to resolve matters amicably. Several representatives of the PTI leadership also participated in the negotiation process.
He said the government is ready to take all political forces along and believes in resolving political differences democratically through dialogue and reconciliation. He noted that PTI lacked clear leadership on negotiations, while the government demonstrated seriousness in moving the process forward.
Barrister Danyal said certain elements are trying to mislead the public and promote the politics of hatred and division. The government remains ready to continue consultations with all parties in the national interest to promote political stability, national unity, and democratic values.
On the performance of the PTI government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, serious questions have been raised over the past 15 years regarding governance, resolution of public issues, and law and order in the province. He said corruption flourished while basic facilities and administrative improvements remained elusive.
He said more than 2,000 incidents of terrorism occurred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while over 72 personnel lost their lives in terrorist attacks. He said law enforcement personnel and the public have made countless sacrifices in the war against terrorism, making joint national efforts essential to eliminate terrorism and ensure peace and stability.
Barrister Danyal reiterated that despite political differences, the government remains committed to taking all parties along and continuing dialogue and consultation to resolve the country's challenges.
