Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar @MIshaqDar50 chaired a high-level meeting on the Establishment of the Joint Pak Global Tech Facility at the National Emergencies Operation Centre (NEOC), NDMA.

Chairman NDMA briefed the meeting on NEOC’s role in disaster monitoring, early warning, preparedness and coordinated response. He also outlined NDMA’s Next Generation Technology project and plans to establish the Global Resilience Hub for international cooperation in proactive disaster management.

The DPM/FM underscored the need to strengthen Pakistan’s resilience against recurring natural disasters, given the country’s vulnerability to climate change. He called for the effective use of artificial intelligence and digital technologies to shift the focus from reactive response to early warning and preparedness. He also stressed efficient and coordinated implementation of agreed plans.

The meeting was attended by Dr Musadik Malik, Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination; Lt General Inam Haider Malik, Chairman NDMA; SAPM Tariq Bajwa; Secretary, Economic Affairs Division; and senior officials from the Ministries of Planning and Development, Finance and Foreign Affairs, as well as NDMA.
