The Government of Pakistan remains committed to protecting the rights, dignity and well-being of older persons and promoting an environment where they can age with security, care and respect. The Islamabad Capital Territory Senior Citizens Act, 2021 provides an important framework towards this objective.
Our responsibility extends beyond legislation. Families, communities, government institutions and civil society must work together to ensure that older persons remain valued, supported and meaningfully included in society. Their dignity, well-being and right to live with respect must remain a shared priority.”
