Twenty-one new vehicles for Islamabad Rescue 1122 and the Fire Brigade have arrived at Karachi Port after 17 years. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited Karachi Port today and inspected the new vehicles that have arrived from China for Islamabad Rescue and the Fire Brigade.
The new rescue vehicles will reach Islamabad from Karachi within five days.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said the arrival of the new vehicles for Islamabad Rescue and the Fire Brigade was a welcome development. He said the addition of new vehicles to Islamabad Rescue was the biggest expansion since 2009.
“We are grateful to the Government of China for expediting the supply of these new vehicles,” said Mohsin Naqvi.
The modern rescue vehicles will remain available round-the-clock at six stations across Islamabad.
According to the briefing, the new rescue vehicles are capable of conducting operations at heights of up to 256 feet.
The new fleet includes four aerial fire trucks, six fire towers and five fire tenders. The new rescue vehicles are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment.
Chief Collector Customs Appraisement South, Collector Appraisement East, Additional Collector Appraisement East, Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Director CDA and representatives of the National Logistics Corporation (NLC) were also present on the occasion.
