A meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Disposal of Legislative Cases was held under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Law & Justice Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar. Senior officials from the concerned ministries, departments and divisions participated in the meeting.
The meeting reviewed various proposed legislative amendments and legal and administrative matters.
The Committee approved the proposed amendments to the FIA Act, 1974, subject to incorporation of the Committee’s recommendations and necessary amendments.
The Committee also approved the proposed amendments to the Pakistan Penal Code, 1860 and the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898, subject to incorporation of necessary amendments and recommendations.
The Committee approved the proposed amendments to the Civil Servants Act, 1973, subject to incorporation of necessary amendments.
Consideration of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (Amendment) Bill, 2026 was deferred.
The Committee approved the proposed amendments to the Immigration Rules, 1979.
The proposal to increase penalties for overloading under the National Highways Safety Ordinance, 2000 was withdrawn.
Senior officials from the concerned ministries, departments and divisions attended the meeting.
