A meeting of the committee on Auto and Auto Parts Manufacturing Policy 2026-31 was held under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Law and Justice Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar to review various aspects of the draft policy and advance the process of its finalization in accordance with the Prime Minister’s directives.
Federal Minister for Energy Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari, Federal Minister for Climate Change Dr. Musadik Masood Malik, Prime Minister’s Adviser on Industries and Production Haroon Akhtar Khan, and representatives of the relevant ministries, divisions and organizations attended the meeting.
The committee reviewed, clause by clause, the concerns raised by various ministries and relevant organizations regarding the Auto Policy. A comprehensive review of different provisions of the policy and its implementation framework was also undertaken.
The meeting also reviewed proposals and recommendations submitted by the relevant ministries and organizations for finalization of the Auto Policy.
The committee agreed that clause-by-clause consideration of the draft policy and consultations among the relevant ministries and organizations would continue in the next meeting to ensure that the Auto and Auto Parts Manufacturing Policy 2026-31 is finalized after comprehensive consultation.
