PR No. 190

Islamabad: September 17, 2026

During a meeting chaired by Federal Minister for Energy (Power Division) Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari, he directed all DISCO's to finalize the methodology, criteria, and schedule of the Consumer Perception Survey and to launch it without further delay.

The Federal Minister directed that the survey's criteria be aligned with the parameters set by NEPRA (the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority), so that consumer feedback is given genuine and meaningful weight. This exercise would help gauge consumer satisfaction with the performance and services of the DISCO's, and its findings would serve as a valuable input for future policymaking.

He further instructed to complete the survey's approval at the earliest so that the process could commence without delay. The survey is to be conducted mandatorily every six months, with the annual schedule required to include at least one survey during the summer season.

The Federal Minister remarked that this survey is not merely an administrative formality but a tangible expression of the government's commitment to consumer welfare and service, aimed at improving the quality of services delivered to the public.

He appealed to consumers to share their feedback honestly and without hesitation during the survey, noting that their candid input would form the foundation for improving institutional performance and would enable the government and relevant authorities to make more informed, transparent, and sound decisions — ultimately strengthening consumer confidence and satisfaction in the power sector.
