The committee constituted to deliberate on the Auto and Auto Parts Manufacturing Policy 2026–31, chaired by Federal Minister for Law and Justice Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, has decided to hold daily meetings to expedite finalization of the policy draft.
On the directions of the Prime Minister, the committee met on Wednesday at the Ministry of Law and Justice under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Law and Justice Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar. Federal Minister for Energy Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production Haroon Akhtar Khan, and representatives of the relevant federal ministries, divisions and organizations attended the meeting.
The meeting held a detailed discussion on the draft Auto Policy and agreed to undertake a comprehensive review of all important aspects before finalizing the policy.
It was decided to examine, clause by clause, the concerns raised by all ministries and relevant organizations regarding the Auto Policy. The committee also agreed to review the final draft from legal, financial and administrative perspectives.
The meeting also reviewed the suggestions and recommendations received from the relevant stakeholders.
The committee agreed that the Auto and Auto Parts Manufacturing Policy 2026–31 would be kept aligned with the policy priorities approved by the Prime Minister.
