The Embassy of Pakistan in Tehran hosted a Seerat Conference and Naatia Mushaira at Pakistan House today to highlight the timeless relevance of the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), particularly in fostering character, compassion and social harmony among the younger generation. The event was attended by Islamic scholars, academics, poets and distinguished guests from various walks of life.
Welcoming the participants, H.E. Mr. Imran Ahmed Siddiqui, Ambassador of Pakistan to Iran, underscored the universal relevance of the Seerat of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). He noted that despite the diversity of the society of Madinah, the Holy Prophet (PBUH) built a cohesive and peaceful community through values of kindness, compassion, justice and mutual respect. He emphasized the importance of imparting these enduring values to today's knowledgeable and skilled youth for building peaceful and harmonious societies.
Distinguished speakers, including Dr. Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel, Head of the Academy of Persian Language and Literature; Dr. Ali Akbar Salehi, Former Foreign Minister, Scholar and now Head of the Iranology Foundation; Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia, Spokesperson of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran; and Maulana Nusrat Bokhari, Islamic scholar, reflected on various dimensions of the Seerat and its relevance to contemporary challenges. The event also featured Naat recitations and poetry in Urdu and Persian to pay homage to the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
A calligraphy exhibition featuring works by renowned Pakistani calligraphers was also inaugurated by the distinguished speakers and Ambassador Siddiqui. The exhibition was warmly appreciated by the participants and added a unique cultural dimension to the evening, celebrating the shared spiritual and cultural traditions of Pakistan and Iran.
