EMBASSY OF PAKISTAN HOSTS MILAD-UN-NABI CELEBRATION IN WASHINGTON, D.C.

Washington, D.C.: September 12, 2026

To mark the auspicious occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) during the holy month of Rabi-ul-Awwal, the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington, D.C., organized a traditional Mehfil-e-Milad.

The event was hosted by Mrs. Lubna Rizwan Sheikh, wife of the Ambassador of Pakistan to the United States, H.E. Rizwan Saeed Sheikh. A large number of Pakistani-American women from across the Washington metropolitan area attended the gathering, which featured spiritual recitations, Naats, and prayers.

Delivering the welcome address, Mrs. Lubna Rizwan highlighted the profound significance of Rabi-ul-Awwal, noting that the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) served as an eternal source of mercy, guidance, and universal brotherhood.

“The true meaning and utility of honoring the Holy Prophet (PBUH) lie in incorporating his sublime teachings into our daily lives,” Mrs. Lubna stated.

“His life presents an exemplary model of patience, justice, humility, and tolerance. Following his path is essential to promoting peace, social harmony, and addressing the contemporary challenges facing humanity.”

Speakers at the gathering echoed these sentiments, emphasizing that the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) message of monotheism and compassion illuminated the world and offers a practical blueprint for success both in this life and the hereafter.

The solemn event featured soul-stirring Naat performances by prominent reciters, culminating in special prayers (Dua) for the peace, progress, and prosperity of Pakistan and the global Muslim community.

First Secretary Ifrah Tariq moderated the event proceedings. Attendees expressed deep appreciation to Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, Ms. Lubna Rizwan and the Embassy of Pakistan for abiding by the traditions of commemorating this solemn occasion in this important capital.
