FEDERAL MINISTER FOR COMMUNICATIONS REPRESENTS PAKISTAN AT THE FUNERAL CEREMONY OF KING HARALD V OF NORWAY; MEETS HIS MAJESTY KING HAAKON VIII AND KEY NORWEGIAN DIGNITARIES

OSLO: September 10, 2026

Representing the Government of Pakistan, the Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan attended the solemn funeral service of His Majesty King Harald V of Norway in Oslo.

?During the official proceedings, the Federal Minister was granted an audience with His Majesty King Haakon VIII. On behalf of the President of Pakistan, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, and the people of Pakistan, the Minister extended profound condolences to the King, the Royal Family, and the people of Norway. The Minister conveyed Pakistan’s heartfelt solidarity with Norway during this period of national mourning and expressed deep respect for the enduring legacy of the late monarch.

?Accompanying the Federal Minister throughout the official engagements was H.E. Mr. Asim Ali Khan, Ambassador of Pakistan to Norway.

?On the sidelines of the solemn ceremony, the Federal Minister held high-level interactions with key cabinet members, local leadership, and international dignitaries. The Minister met with Mr. Espen Barth Eide, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway; Ms. Lubna Jaffery, Minister of Culture and Equality of Norway; Mr. Åsmund Aukrust, Minister of International Development of Norway; Mr. Andreas Motzfeldt Kravik, State Secretary of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Ms. Anne Lindboe, Mayor of Oslo; and Mr. Jens Stoltenberg, Minister of Finance of Norway and former NATO Secretary General.

?During these meetings, the Federal Minister expressed condolences on behalf of Pakistan and exchanged views on matters of mutual interest.

?The Norwegian leadership appreciated Pakistan’s participation at the highest official level during this period of national remembrance, reaffirming the shared intent to strengthen the friendly relations between the two countries.
