The Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan, in his capacity as Chairman of the National Judicial (Policy Making) Committee (NJPMC), today held a constructive meeting with a delegation of the Balochistan Bar Council, led by its Vice Chairman and comprising members from various districts of the Province, at the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Branch Registry Quetta.
The meeting formed part of the ongoing consultative process initiated earlier this month by the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan, aimed at developing a uniform and standardised national framework for e-filing across the Supreme Court, High Courts and District Courts.
The participants were apprised of the proposed National Standardised E-Filing System, envisaged as a structured, intelligent and rules-compliant platform aligned with the procedural and legal requirements governing judicial proceedings. The initiative forms part of the judiciary’s broader reform agenda to harness technology for modernising court processes, enhancing efficiency and transparency, improving predictability, and making justice more accessible and responsive to litigants and lawyers.
The Chair underscored that the Bar, being the primary user of the proposed framework, is a key partner in both the development of standardised e-filing templates and their successful implementation across all judicial tiers. The Chair urged the participants to provide valuable practical input to ensure that the system is responsive, accessible and easy to use.
The members of the delegation welcomed the initiative and expressed the hope that the system would facilitate advocates and litigants through simpler filing procedures, effective case tracking and a unified electronic case record.
It was decided that a committee comprising the Registrars of all High Courts, two members nominated by each Provincial Bar Council, and two members nominated by the Islamabad Bar Council shall review and finalise the standardised e-filing templates. Upon finalisation, the templates will be placed before the National Judicial (Policy Making) Committee for its consideration and policy directions.
