21 PROBATIONARY OFFICERS OF 54th. CTP VISIT PAKISTAN BAIT-UL-MAL

A delegation comprising 21 probationary officers of the 54th Common Training Programme (CTP), led by the Additional Director, Civil Services Academy, Muhammad Ali Afzal visited the headquarters of Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM) in Islamabad as part of their professional training and exposure to key public-sector institutions required for effective, responsive and people-centric public service.

During the visit, Managing Director Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal, Senator Capt. Shaheen Khalid Butt, briefed the probationary officers on PBM’s mandate, social protection initiatives and efforts aimed at alleviating poverty and supporting vulnerable segments of society. Earlier, Director Projects PBM Dr. Qasim Zafar delivered a comprehensive presentation, apprising the delegation of PBM’s operational framework, major programmes and nationwide interventions for marginalized communities.

Speaking on the occasion, Capt. Shaheen highlighted the institution’s transformative role in restoring human dignity and creating opportunities for disadvantaged citizens to achieve greater self-reliance. Responding to questions from the probationary officers, the Managing Director shared his vision of transforming PBM’s approach from short-term assistance to sustainable, long-term empowerment. He emphasized that social welfare should not be limited to providing immediate relief but should also enable individuals and families to become self-reliant and economically productive.

“You are the future leaders of Pakistan. With innovative ideas, dedication and a passion to serve the country, you can contribute to building a prosperous and stronger Pakistan,” the Managing Director said. He stressed that effective public service must be founded on dignity, empathy, fairness and accountability, adding that institutions such as PBM have a vital role in ensuring that vulnerable citizens are not left behind in the process of national development.

The delegation appreciated PBM’s extensive social protection and welfare services and acknowledged the institution’s efforts to provide assistance and opportunities to deserving citizens across the country.

Concluding the interaction, the Managing Director called for unity, collective responsibility and a renewed commitment to public service, emphasizing that compassionate and inclusive governance can serve as a catalyst for social cohesion, human dignity and sustainable national development.
