NAB and National Forensics Agency Partner to Strengthen Scientific Accountability Investigations

Islamabad: August 11, 2026

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and the National Forensics Agency (NFA) have formalised a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to integrate advanced forensic science into NAB’s inquiries, investigations, and prosecutions.

The agreement was signed by Mr. Amjad Majeed Aulakh (DG Operations, NAB) and Mr. Jawad Ahmad Dogar (DG, NFA) in the presence of Chairman NAB Lt Gen (R) Nazir Ahmed and Senior officers of NAB & NFA at NAB Headquarters.

Under the partnership, NAB will refer investigative material to NFA for crime-scene investigation and scientific analysis, receiving authenticated forensic reports in return. To strengthen evidence-driven prosecutions, NFA forensic experts will provide expert testimony in Accountability Courts and other judicial forums as required.

The agreement establishes strict physical, digital, and procedural protocols to ensure the secure handling and confidentiality of all sensitive investigative material. Additionally, clear mechanisms for focal-point coordination and service-based financial reconciliation have been established to streamline inter-agency cooperation.

This strategic alliance modernizes the national accountability framework, ensuring greater procedural rigor, scientific integrity, and transparency in legal proceedings.
