Ambassador of Kazakhstan Calls on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif

Islamabad: August 10, 2026

Upon completion of his tenure, H.E. Mr. Yerzhan Kistafin, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Pakistan, paid a farewell call on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House today.

Deputy Prime Minister & Foreign Minister Sen.Mohammad Ishaq Dar, SAPM Tariq Fatemi and Foreign Secretary Amb. Amna Baloch were also present.

The Prime Minister appreciated the Kazakh Ambassador's valuable contribution towards further strengthening the historic bonds of friendship and cooperation between Pakistan and Kazakhstan during his tenure. He especially acknowledged the Ambassador's role in facilitating the visit of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Pakistan in February 2026, which elevated bilateral relations to the level of a Strategic Partnership.

The Prime Minister conveyed his warm regards to President Tokayev and reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to deepening the multifaceted partnership with Kazakhstan, including through enhanced regional connectivity, expanded trade linkages, and closer collaboration in the fields of energy, education, and people-to-people exchanges.

Ambassador Kistafin thanked the Prime Minister for the cooperation and assistance extended to him during his tenure and expressed confidence that the trajectory of Pakistan-Kazakhstan relations would continue to grow under the strategic partnership framework.

The Prime Minister wished the Kazakh Ambassador success in his future assignment.
