A meeting to review the progress of the E-Filing System and the digitization of judicial case files was held under the chairmanship of Hon'ble Mr. Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan, Chief Justice, Federal Constitutional Court of Pakistan. The meeting was attended by Hon'ble Mr. Justice Syed Arshad Hussain Shah; Mr. Muhammad Hafeez Ullah Khan, Registrar; Mr. Mazhar Javed Bhatti, Secretary to the Hon'ble Chief Justice; Mr. Abdul Rasheed Mahar, Director General (IT); Mr. Muhammad Abbas Zaidi, Deputy Registrar (Judicial-I); Mr. Mahmood-ul-Hassan Bhatti, Deputy Registrar (Judicial-II); Mr. Najam Farooq Alvi, Director IT; Dr. Bibi Ameena, AR (C&ST) and Director (MA & PR); and Ms. Maryam Khan, Director IT (Automation & Digitization).
The Director General (IT) briefed the participants on the Court's digital transformation programme and the Director IT demonstrated the E-Filing System and the digitization process, while the Worthy Registrar highlighted the system's role in modernizing judicial administration and strengthening institutional efficiency.
The meeting was informed that the FCCP has launched a pilot project for the digitization of judicial case files as part of its vision to establish a secure, efficient, and technology-enabled paperless e-Court. Under the initiative, the Judicial Wing and the Directorate of Information Technology are jointly undertaking the scanning, digital indexing, and secure uploading of judicial records to the Court's Case Flow Management System (CFMS), with Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology facilitating efficient indexing and retrieval of records.
The Hon'ble Chief Justice appreciated the efforts of the Judicial Wing and the Directorate of Information Technology in implementing the initiative and directed that a practical inspection of the project be conducted next week to review its operational progress. The Hon'ble Chief Justice observed that the FCCP should continue to introduce innovative and distinctive institutional reforms capable of setting new benchmarks for excellence within the justice sector. He emphasized that every reform undertaken today should create enduring institutional value by making judicial processes more efficient, accessible, and convenient for future generations.
The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of the FCCP's commitment to digital transformation, institutional modernization, and the continuous enhancement of judicial services.
