A high-level multi-country diplomatic delegation comprising representatives from Tajikistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Oman, Spain, Bangladesh, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Jordan, Indonesia, Germany, Hungary, Japan, Thailand, Canada and Uzbekistan visited the National Emergencies Operations Centre (NEOC) at Headquarters NDMA, Islamabad. The delegation included Heads of Mission and senior diplomats accredited to Pakistan. Simultaneously, more than 34 Pakistani Ambassadors and Heads of Mission serving in various countries participated in the session through a Zoom link.
Team NDMA comprehensively presented NEOC capability exposition, along with Pakistan's innovative transformation of Proactive Disasters Management response systems to reduce recurring disaster risks. Chairman NDMA Lt Gen Inam Haider Malik introduced various measures advanced by NDMA for regional integration and global DRR reset approach. The delegation was shown Pak NDMA's excellence standards achieved in recent times, and plans of securing next stage of Next Generation Technologies, to create greater authentic Disaster Early Warnings (DEW) and choreographed synergetic actions by responders and resource providers.
Pak NDMA's structured coordination with national and security leadership, extension of regular guidance framework for area governments and innovative connectivity with global academia, humanitarian responders and support enablers was peculiarly elucidated.
Dividends of multi-tiered coordination and resilient disaster response readiness were well acknowledged. Strategic appraisal highlighted localized risk communication, anticipatory actions administration, additional national resource mobilization and international coordination for pre-coordinated assured foreign support for disaster relief logistics.
During the session, "Disaster Lens 2026" was demonstrated for Pakistan and the global community, and vigorous sequences of Comprehensive International Simulation Exercises (CISE) were shown to the delegates.
The session was also attended by a representative of the National Disaster Risk Management Fund (NDRMF) at the NEOC, while representatives of OIC Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH), the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), the Commonwealth and Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) participated virtually. Representatives of these organizations shared their views on strengthening regional cooperation, enhancing disaster risk reduction mechanisms, promoting knowledge exchange and fostering collaborative approaches to building resilience against climate-induced and complex disasters.
The delegation applauded Pakistan NDMA's superior high-end niche disaster management methodology and trusted capabilities. The participating countries expressed interest for continued collaboration with Pakistan NDMA for disaster management and emergency response.
Both sides underscored the importance of strengthening institutional linkages and promoting cooperation to address emerging risks associated with climate change and complex disasters.
