Federal Minister Jam Kamal Khan has called for a fair and equitable distribution of development funds across all districts of Balochistan, stressing that development planning should be based on need, population, economic contribution and the level of deprivation rather than political preferences.
In a statement, the Federal Minister expressed concern that billions of rupees in development projects had been allocated to a few selected districts, while several other districts had been overlooked in the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).
He further noted that, in some areas, schemes proposed by elected public representatives were ignored.
Jam Kamal Khan said balanced development requires transparent and proper planning to ensure that every district of Balochistan receives equal opportunities for economic and social progress.
He cautioned that such disparities in the allocation of resources could further aggravate the province’s already sensitive situation.
The Federal Minister said the Chief Minister represents the entire province as well as the coalition government and should, therefore, ensure that all regions are treated in a balanced and impartial manner.
