On the solemn occasion of Youm-e-Istehsal, we pay tribute to the unwavering courage, resilience, and sacrifices of the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). The events of 5 August 2019, when India unilaterally revoked the internationally recognized special status of Jammu and Kashmir, remain a grave violation of international law, the United Nations Security Council resolutions, and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
This day serves as a reminder of the continued denial of the Kashmiri people's fundamental right to self-determination, a right guaranteed under the relevant UN Security Council resolutions. Despite years of oppression, prolonged military occupation, restrictions on fundamental freedoms, demographic changes, and serious human rights violations, the people of Kashmir have remained steadfast in their just struggle for freedom, dignity, and justice.
Pakistan will continue to extend its unwavering political, diplomatic, and moral support to the Kashmiri people until they are able to exercise their inalienable right to determine their own future in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions and their own aspirations.
As Federal Minister and Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir, I reaffirm our commitment to highlighting the Kashmir dispute at every regional and international forum. The international community, particularly the United Nations and global human rights organizations, must play their due role in ending the suffering of the Kashmiri people and ensuring a peaceful and just resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.
On this Youm-e-Istehsal, let us renew our pledge to stand shoulder to shoulder with our Kashmiri brothers and sisters. Their sacrifices will never be forgotten, and their voice for justice cannot be silenced. We remain confident that truth, justice, and the legitimate aspirations of the Kashmiri people will ultimately prevail.
