PAKISTAN CUSTOMS MOURNS MARTYRDOM OF CUSTOMS AND EXCISE PERSONNEL IN TERRORIST ATTACK NEAR KOHAT TOLL PLAZA

Pakistan Customs deeply regrets to announce that a Customs Enforcement Squad performing routine anti-smuggling duties came under a terrorist attack by unidentified assailants at approximately 12:15 a.m. near Kohat Toll Plaza on the main highway.

During the attack, Sepoy Jawad Ahmed of Pakistan Customs and Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Sajid ul Islam of the Excise Department embraced Shahadat in the line of duty while courageously serving the nation. Another Customs Sepoy sustained injuries in the incident and is currently receiving medical treatment.

The terrorists also set the official enforcement vehicle ablaze before fleeing the scene. Law enforcement agencies have launched a comprehensive search and investigation to identify, trace, and apprehend those responsible for this heinous act.

Pakistan Customs pays profound tribute to the supreme sacrifice rendered by Shaheed Sepoy Jawad Ahmed and Shaheed ASI Sajid ul Islam, whose unwavering courage and dedication exemplify the highest traditions of public service. Their martyrdom while combating smuggling and safeguarding Pakistan's economic frontiers reflects their steadfast commitment to protecting the nation's interests.

The Namaz-e-Janaza of Shaheed Sepoy Jawad Ahmed will be offered at Customs House, Peshawar, at 9:30 a.m. Following the funeral prayers, his mortal remains will be transported to his native hometown for burial with full state honors. Funeral arrangements for Shaheed ASI Sajid ul Islam will be announced by the Excise Department.

Pakistan Customs extends its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families of both martyrs and prays for the swift recovery of the injured official. The institution stands in solidarity with their families during this time of immense grief.
