Chairman Prime Minister's Youth Programme (PMYP) Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan held an interactive youth engagement session at the Consulate General of Pakistan in Chicago with members of the Pakistani-American youth, eminent community leaders, and representatives of educational institutions and professional networks.
Upon his arrival, Chairman Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan met with Consul General of Pakistan in Chicago General Zaman Mehdi and discussed avenues for strengthening collaboration with the Pakistani diaspora, particularly in the areas of youth empowerment, education, skills development, innovation, entrepreneurship, and investment.
In his welcome remarks, Consul General Zaman Mehdi emphasized that Pakistan's greatest asset is its young population and highlighted the significant role overseas Pakistani youth can play in fostering educational and professional linkages while contributing knowledge, innovation, and investment to the country's development. He noted that stronger engagement between Pakistan's youth and its global diaspora would create lasting partnerships benefiting both Pakistan and host communities.
Addressing the audience, Chairman Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan shared the Government of Pakistan's vision for youth empowerment through the Prime Minister's Youth Programme. He outlined the programme's four key pillars—Education, Employment & Entrepreneurship, Engagement, and Environment—and highlighted flagship initiatives such as the Digital Youth Hub, youth skills development programmes, business and agriculture financing, scholarships, sports development, and leadership opportunities. He encouraged members of the Pakistani-American diaspora to partner with PMYP in expanding opportunities for young Pakistanis.
The Youth Focal Person of the Prime Minister's Youth Programme delivered a comprehensive presentation on PMYP's ongoing initiatives and explored opportunities for collaboration with the Pakistani-American community, universities, and industry partners to enhance skills development and create international career pathways for Pakistan's youth.
The session concluded with an engaging question-and-answer segment, where participants exchanged ideas on strengthening youth engagement and collaboration. At the conclusion of the event, community representatives presented souvenirs to Chairman Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan in recognition of his visit and continued commitment to empowering Pakistan's youth.
