The Pakistan Anti-Corruption Academy (PACA) organized its fourth one-day orientation session for the District Judiciary of Islamabad, focusing on the investigation and prosecution mechanisms of money laundering cases alongside the global framework. Held under the vision and guidance of Chairman NAB, Lt Gen (Retd) Nazir Ahmed, the program aimed to enhance understanding of Pakistan's anti-money laundering framework and foster stronger coordination among the judiciary, investigative agencies, prosecutors, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies.
Hon’ble Mr. Justice Muhammad Azam Khan, Judge of the Islamabad High Court, graced the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest. He praised NAB and PACA for conducting vital orientation sessions and underscored the judiciary's essential role in evaluating complex financial evidence and upholding the rule of law.
Chairman NAB, Lt Gen (Retd) Nazir Ahmed, delivered the keynote address, stressing that money laundering poses a severe threat to economic stability and public accountability, requiring sustained multi-agency coordination and strict enforcement of the Anti-Money Laundering Act, 2010.
Mr. Nasir Sohail, Deputy Chairman NAB, Muhammad Tahir, Director General NAB and Ms. Noor us Sahar provided technical and legal insight to the participants on the subject.
Mr. Ghulam Safdar Shah, Director General PACA, who also delivered the welcome remarks highlighting PACA's evolving role as a Centre of Excellence, shared operational and institutional insights.
The program wrapped up with the distribution of certificates to participating judges and the exchange of commemorative souvenirs.
