Through the Edhi Foundation, he built a network of social care from the ground up, establishing the world’s largest volunteer ambulance network to provide a lifeline to people in times of crisis. His shelters, orphanages and free meal kitchens became sanctuaries of hope for the homeless, the destitute and the vulnerable, proving that one individual's determination can construct an entire institutional framework of mercy.
Abdul Sattar Edhi was not only a monumental humanitarian but also an enduring symbol of national pride. His tireless work built institutions that continue to serve millions, standing as a living testament to his profound vision. His legacy remains a beacon to uphold the values of empathy, charity and dignity for all.
The people of Pakistan renew their pledge today, to honour Edhi Sahib’s mission by strengthening the bonds of humanity and ensuring that his torch of compassion never dims.
