THE CHIEF MINISTERS VISIT SUPREME COURT'S PUBLIC FACILITATION CENTER FOLLOWING NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON PRISON REFORM

Islamabad: July 4, 2026

Following their participation in the National Conference on Prison Reform convened under the auspices of the National Judicial (Policy Making) Committee (NJPMC) on July 2, 2026, the Chief Ministers of Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, and Sindh visited the Public Facilitation Center (PFC) of the Supreme Court of Pakistan in the presence of the Hon'ble Chief Justice of Pakistan. The visit provided an opportunity for the provincial leadership to witness firsthand the Supreme Court's ongoing institutional reforms aimed at enhancing public service delivery and improving access to justice.

The Chief Ministers were briefed on the Public Facilitation Center's citizen-centric, one-window service model, which brings together a wide range of judicial services under a single roof. They were apprised of the Center's role in simplifying court procedures, reducing turnaround times, and making judicial services more accessible, transparent, and user-friendly for litigants and the general public.

During a comprehensive tour of the facility, the dignitaries visited the Information and Copy Desk, Institution Desk, Institution Officer's Office, banking and postal facilities, e-Payment support services, and other public service units. They were also briefed on the integrated digital workflow that enables efficient processing of requests while ensuring transparency, accountability, and timely service delivery.

The dignitaries were further informed about the Supreme Court's broader digital transformation initiatives, including the introduction of the e-Payment system for court fees, which replaces conventional payment methods with a secure digital platform. These reforms form part of the Court's wider modernization agenda focused on leveraging technology to improve judicial administration, enhance institutional efficiency, and strengthen public confidence in the justice system.

The Chief Ministers interacted with the officials and staff of the Public Facilitation Center and appreciated the Supreme Court's reform-oriented initiatives. They acknowledged the importance of citizen-focused innovation and technology in making justice services more accessible, efficient, and responsive to the needs of the public.
