In a dignified ceremony held today at the Branch Registry of the Federal Constitutional Court of Pakistan in Karachi, Hon'ble Mr. Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi took oath as Acting Chief Justice of the Federal Constitutional Court of Pakistan during the absence of Hon'ble Chief Justice Mr. Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan.
The oath was administered by Hon'ble Mr. Justice Kareem Khan Agha in the presence of judges, officers, and officials of the Court.
Hon'ble Chief Justice Mr. Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan is currently on an official visit to Saint Petersburg, Russian Federation, where he is attending an international legal conference aimed at promoting judicial cooperation, exchange of legal expertise, and dialogue on contemporary constitutional and legal issues.
The oath-taking ceremony was conducted in accordance with established constitutional and institutional practices.
Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi will discharge the responsibilities of the office of the Chief Justice during the absence of the Hon’ble Chief Justice, ensuring the uninterrupted functioning of the Court and the continued administration of constitutional justice.
The ceremony reflected the Federal Constitutional Court’s steadfast commitment to institutional continuity, constitutional governance, and the rule of law.
