PR No. 83 We Deeply Value Our Relations with Korea and Welcome Investment By Korean Companies In All Sectors Of Our Economy: Rana Tanveer Hussain Rawalpindi

Pakistan and Korea on Wednesday decided to enhance defence cooperation. This understanding reached during a meeting of H.E Dr. Song Jong Hwan, Ambassador of Republic of Korea and Rana Tanveer Hussain, Minister of Defence Production (MoDP). They exchanged views on matters of shared interest and improving cooperation in defence production.

Rana Tanveer Hussain congratulated the Ambassador on completing his tenure successfully. Pakistan and Korea enjoys long standing friendly relations. He said, “We deeply value our relations with Korea and welcome investment by Korean companies in all sectors of our economy”.

During H.E Dr. Song Jong Hwan’s stay relations between two countries even improved more. The first ever visits of the Speaker of National Assembly of Republic of Korea (January, 2014) and that of Prime Minister of Korea (April 2014) were highly applaud able. Visit of Commerce Minister to Seoul in July 2015 led to an important agreement to start a joint pre-feasibility study on Free Trade Agreement. Even there is a significant increase in Economic Cooperation Development Fund (ECDF) from US $130 million to US $ 500 million
