Chairman Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP), Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, concluded a series of high-level engagements in Beijing aimed at advancing Pakistan-China cooperation in education, vocational training, technology transfer, digital innovation, and youth development.
A major highlight of the visit was the formal Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) signing ceremony with leading Chinese institutions witnessed by Chairman Prime Minister’s Youth Programme Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, marking a significant milestone in the implementation of the understandings reached during Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s official visit to China commemorating 75 years of Pakistan-China diplomatic relations.
The MoUs pave the way for the establishment of joint training and research centres, enhanced collaboration in technology transfer, curriculum development, vocational education, skills training, innovation ecosystems, and expanded student exchange programmes. These agreements reflect the shared commitment of both countries to creating new opportunities for youth through knowledge exchange, research collaboration, and capacity building.
As part of the visit, Chairman PMYP attended a high-level seminar at China Agricultural University, Beijing, alongside heads of leading Chinese institutions. The session focused on exploring new avenues of cooperation in higher education, agricultural sciences, vocational training, and youth development. Detailed presentations were delivered on prospective collaboration frameworks, followed by an interactive discussion on technology transfer, joint research initiatives, student mobility programmes, and institutional partnerships. The engagement reaffirmed the strong bilateral commitment to advancing agricultural sciences, vocational training, and youth empowerment while enhancing the global competitiveness of Pakistani youth.
Chairman PMYP also visited the College of Engineering, Beijing University of Agriculture, where he received a warm welcome and participated in discussions on future collaboration frameworks with Pakistan. The session highlighted opportunities for cooperation in technical education, vocational training, applied research, and skills development. Both sides expressed a strong desire to strengthen institutional linkages and promote knowledge-sharing initiatives that would benefit young people in both countries.
In another significant engagement, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan met with senior leadership of Alibaba Group to discuss the strategic execution of projects under the MoUs signed during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit. Comprehensive discussions focused on leveraging Alibaba’s digital ecosystem to empower Pakistani youth through entrepreneurship, e-commerce, digital skills development, innovation, and sustainable economic opportunities. The meeting underscored the importance of technology-driven solutions in preparing Pakistani youth for the demands of the modern digital economy and fostering inclusive growth.
The Chairman also attended a convocation ceremony in Beijing, where he interacted with Pakistani graduates and congratulated them on their academic achievements. During the engagement, he listened to students’ aspirations and concerns, encouraging them to continue striving for excellence and to utilize their education, skills, and international exposure in contributing to Pakistan’s socio-economic development. He emphasized the critical role of educated youth in shaping the country’s future and strengthening Pakistan’s global competitiveness.
